M Somasekhara Sarma

M Somasekhara Sarma is an epigraphist and historian from Andhra Pradesh. Mallampalli Somasekhara Sarma (December 24, 1891 – January 7, 1963) was born in the village of Minuminchilipadu in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. After completing his education, he became an editor with Desamata, the mouthpiece of Telugu renaissance during those days. He established a library called Andhrabhyudaya Granthamala during his editorship.

Sarma authored more than ten books and wrote over two hundred articles on various aspects of Andhra culture. His works include The History of the Reddy Kingdoms and A Forgotten Chapter of Andhra History. He edited several inscriptions for Epigraphia Indica and the Telugu monthly, Bharati. He taught epigraphy and numismatics at Andhra University.
