Panauti Krishna Narayan temple is located on the north side of the tribeni ghats at Panauti in Nepal. The shrine is dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Krishna. Cowherd Krishna is worshipped in the shrine and he stands cross-legged playing the flute. The temple is believed to have been constructed during the 17th century CE.
The walls of the temple have incidents from the life of Krishna carved in wood. There are also wooden sculptures images of Sri Krishna throughout the temple.
The temple has a three-tiered roof and is in pagoda style. Krishna playing flute can be seen on many parts of the temple including the wood supporting the roofs. There are also intricate carvings on doors and windows.
