Kannampally Kadalimangalam Bhadrakali Temple

Kannampally Kadalimangalam Bhadrakali temple is located at Venpala near Kannampally – Thiruvalla in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali. The annual festival in the temple coincides with Meena Bharani (Bharani nakshatra in March – April (Meena Masam)). The annual festival is famous for the padayani ritual.

The main upa devata worshipped in the temple is yakshi amma. The shrine lies on the banks of Manimala River.

The annual festival in the temple is famous for traditional music, dance, and colorful religious kolams made using natural color.

The popular belief is that the fire that is spread during the padayani festival purifies the minds of devotees and it also removes sins of previous births.
