Bhaktapur Badrinath Temple - Nepal

Bhaktapur Badrinath temple is located at Bhaktapur in Nepal. The shrine is dedicated to Bhagwan Vishnu. This is a shikhara style temple. The temple was built by Bhupatindra Malla (1696-1722 CE). The shrine was destroyed during the earthquakes of 1934 and 2015. The temple was rebuilt each time.

The shrine was built as a substitute to the famous Badrinath Temple in Uttarakhand, India.

There is a Shiva temple located adjacent to the shrine.

A four hand murti of Vishnu holding lotus, mace, shankha is worshipped in the sanctum sanctorum.

The temple has ornate pillars and windows. There are also sculptures of Hindu gods and goddess. During renovation, salvaged original elements of the ancient temple were reused. There are also beautiful stone sculptures of lions and other animals.
