Alanadu Sree Krishna Swami Temple

Alanadu Sree Krishna Swami temple is located at Alanadu in Kottayam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Sri Krishna Bhagavan. The 6-day annual festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Meena Masam (March - April). Ashtami Rohini (Sri Krishna Janmashtami) is another important festival in the temple which is noted for pujas, rituals, uriyadi and procession.

The temple has an east facing chathura sreekovil. The shrine has a chuttambalam, namaskara mandapam, kodimaram and shrines of upa devatas including Ganapathy, Dakshinamoorthy, Ayyappan, Yakshi and Nagas. Two huge banyan trees welcome devotees to the shrine.

The shrine observes various Vaishnava rituals and pujas during auspicious occasion especially during Ekadashi. The temple observes Vishu, Ramayana Masam, Thiruvonam, Vrischika Masam and Thrikarthika festival.

The main offerings in the temple are Santhanagopala Pushpanjali, Swayamvara Pushpanjali, Pal Payasam, Unniyoottu, Thiruvona oottu.

The temple has a history of more than 1000 years and is managed by the Kuruppakkattu Illam.
