Thiru Vellaman Thulli Temple History

Previously puja was held only during one time in a day. Once Chembakassery king arrived at the temple for darshan but the temple was closed and therefore he could not have darshan. He then made arrangements for Athazha Pooja (evening puja). He donated a piece of rice field for the expense of evening puja. The farmland that was donated to the temple is known as Chembicheri.

The temple belonged to Panayil Pazhoor, Thekkinedath, Thuruthi and Ilam Thuruthi (Manakal) Brahmin families.

The temple is now managed by Oozhanma Devaswom Board.
