Kallambad Kurumba Bhagavathy Temple – Festival

Kallambad Kurumba Bhagavathy temple is located at Kallambad at Melarcode, Alathur, Palakkad district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The annual Vela festival in the temple is held in Meda Masam (April – May).

This is a small temple with a chathura sreekovil and there are shrines of upa devatas.

The shrine is famous for its annual Vela festival. Melam, panchavadyam, pandimelam and nearly six caparisoned elephants are part of the annual festival. Tantric pujas and rituals are held here including homam and abhishekam.

Various traditional temple performing art forms and unique pujas and rituals are performed on the occasion.
