Thevalakkara Thekkan Guruvayoor Sri Krishna Temple – Festival

Thevalakkara Thekkan Guruvayoor Sri Krishna temple, also known as Thottathil Kulangara temple, is located at Thevalakkara in Kollam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Sri Krishna Bhagavan. The annual festival in the temple is held in Kumbha Masam.

The annual festival is famous for Thalappoli, Sree Bhootha Bali, Sree Bali, Vilakkacharam, panchagavya kalasa  pooja, nava kalasa pooja and arattu. The temple is known for processions and ezhunellippu atop caparisoned elephants.

This is a huge temple with a chuttambalam, chathura sreekovil, temple pond and kodimaram (flag post). There is a huge banyan tree on the southeast side of the temple. The upa devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Durga, Dharmasastha (Ayyappa), Brahma Rakshas, Yakshi Amma and Nagaraja and Nagayakshi.

The pal payasam naivedyam in the temple is famous.

Navratri, Sri Krishna Jayanti and Vishu are the other important festivals here.

The temple also conducts Bhagavatha Sapthaha Yajnam, Dasavathara Charthal, Santana Gopala Havanam and Swayamvara Archana.

Morning Darshan Timings are from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Evening Darshan Timings are from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
The morning darshan time is extended during Thursdays and Sundays.
