Puthucode Shiva Temple – Festival

Puthucode Shiva temple is located at Puthucode in Palakkad district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva – Mahadeva. The 8-day annual festival in the temple concludes on the Thiruvathira nakshatra in Vrischika Masam. Maha Shivratri in Kumbha Masam is famous for Maharudram.

The temple is located on the northern end of the North Village of Puthucode Agraharam. The temple has a large pond known an Ayyankulam.

The shrine has a chuttambalam, namaskara mandapam with Nandi or Rishabham and a kodimaram or flag post (swarna kodimaram). The shrine also has up devatas.

Annabhishekam is a unique ritual held in the temple.

Thiruvathira in Dhanu Masam is an important day in the temple.
