Perumpetty Mahadeva – Mahavishnu temple is located at Perumpetty in Pathanamthita district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva and Bhagavan Vishnu. The 10-day annual festival in the temple concludes on the Mahashivratri day in Kumbha Masam (February – March).
Equal importance is given to both Shiva and Vishnu in the temple. The temple has two kodimaram or flagposts.
As per local belief the shrine is one among the 108 Shiva temples in Kerala and the pratishta in the temple was performed by Parashurama.
The upa devatas worshipped in
the temple are Goddess Devi, Ganapati, Ayyappa, Muruga, Moorthi, Yakshi, Mala
Daivam and Nagas (Sarpam).
