Padiyottuchal Ayyappa temple is located near Cherupuzha in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Ayyappa and the annual festival in the temple coincides with the Makara Bharani nakshatra.
The 14-day festival is famous for colorful procession, various temple folk art forms, melam and puja and rituals associated with Ayyappa temple.
Mandala Makaravilakku (November to January) is of great importance in the temple. This is a famous shrine in the region and follows the Kerala temple architecture. The shrine is complete with a kodimaram, sreekovil, chuttambalam and places of upa devatas.
