Chakkittayil Yogeeswara Swami Mahadeva temple is located at Karuvatta in Alappuzha district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Yogeeswaran (Shiva). The annual Bhagavata Saptaham in the temple is held in Kumbha masam (February – March).
This is a small temple with a chathura sreekovil, which is recent addition. The shrine has separate temples for Upa Devatas. All the murtis the shrine are very old but the building structures are new.
Mondays in a week are of great importance here.
Mahashivratri is the most important date in the shrine.
The temple also observes Pradosham, Ramayana Masam and Thrikarthika.
The annual pratishta festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Mithuna Masam (June - July).
Karkidaka Masam (July - August) is of great importance in the temple.
