Punnayur Kumaramkodu Temple – Subrahmanya Temple

Punnayur Kumaramkodu Subrahmanya temple is located at Punnayur in Thrissur district of Kerala. The temple has a beautiful round sanctum sanctorum – Vatta sreekovil. A standing murti of Subrahmanya holding Vel is worshipped in the temple.

The important festivals held in the temple are Thaipooyam (January – February), Vishu, Chingam 1, Skanda Sashti and Thrikarthika.

The temple has an upa devata shrine outside the Chuttambalam.

The annual Thaipooyam festival is famous for various types of Kavadi. People perform various rituals on the day for desire fulfillment.
