Njarakkal Sree Shaktidhara Temple

Njarakkal Sree Shaktidhara temple is located at Njarakkal near Vypin in Ernakulam, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Subrahmanya or Muruga.

The shrine was consecrated on the advice of Sri Narayana Guru.

The Thaipooyam festival in Makaram month is famous for various types of kavadi including palkavadi. Shoolam kuthu and other Muruga temple rituals are held on the occasion. Caparisoned elephants, melam, Kerala temple arts and music are part of the annual festival.

The temple also observes Sashti fasting in every Malayalam month – the sixth day after Karutha Vavu or Amavasya.

The other festivals observed in the temple include Skanda Sashti and Thrikarthika.
