Keralapuram Poojappura Subramanya Swami Temple - Information - Festival

Keralapuram Poojappura Subramanya Swami temple is located at Edavattom - Keralapuram on the Kollam-Tirumangalam Road in Kollam district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Muruga or Subrahmanya. The temple has unique sreekovil with beautiful sculptures. The roof of the sreekovil is different from traditional Kerala temples.

A standing murti of Subramanya is consecrated in the sanctum sanctorum. The temple has a well maintained chuttambalam and few shrines for upa devatas. The entrance of the shrine is adorned with vilakku and a majestic kodimaram or flagpost.

The important festivals observed in the temple are Thaipooyam, Annual festival in July, Skanda Sashti in Thulam masam and Thrikarthika.

The festivals in the temple is noted for Kavadi, Shoolam, procession, caparisoned elephants, temple art forms and melam and other temple music.

The temple takes care of peacocks, the vehicle or vahana of Subrahmanya.

  • Morning Darshan Timing is from 5:00 AM to 9:30 AM
  • Evening Darshan Timing is from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM
  • The temple may have extended timings during festivals and monthly Sashti Fasting days.
