Vizhinjam Bhagavathi Temple

Vizhinjam Bhagavathi temple is located at Vizhinjam in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The pratishta in the temple is that of Saptamatrikas – among the Seven Mother Goddesses importance is given to Goddess Vaishnavi.

The darshanam of Vizhinjam Bhagavathi temple is towards north. Shiva is worshiped in the temple and He faces west. Ganapathi and Veerabhadra are worshiped along with the Saptamatrikas.

The main festival in the temple is the Thrikarthika in Vrischikam month (November – December).

It is believed that the temple belongs to 8th or 9th century CE.
