Poothotta Sree Narayana Vallabha temple is located at Poothotta in Ernakulam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva and Subramanya. The prathishta in the shrine was done by Sri Narayana Guru on February 20, 1893. The annual Prathishta dinam festival is held on February 20 annually. The annual festival in the temple is held in Kumbha Masam.
As per history people of the region wanted to create two separate temples for Shiva and Subramanya. But Sri Narayana Guru objected to it and said to consecrate both the murtis in a single sreekovil.
Thus in the same sreekovil Shiva was consecrated to the east and Subrahmanya behind the murti of Shiva.
The arattu devata in the temple is Subrahmanya.
It is said that many scholars and saintly persons including Chattambi Swamikal was present during the consecration ceremony.
Sashti and Pradosham are of great significance here. Annual festivals include Maha Shivratri and Thaipooyam.
