Ootuparampu Ardhanareeswari temple is located at Oottuparambu near Kadakkavoor in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The temple is of importance as the Shivling worshipped in the sreekovil (sanctum sanctorum) was consecrated by Sri Narayana Guru. As per history, Sri Narayana Guru had removed the Devi Vigraham in the temple before doing the prathishta of Shivling. The shrine is also known as Ootuparampu Ardhanareeswara kshetram.
Some bad practices like animal sacrifices, which were prevalent in the temple, were put to an end by Sri Narayana Guru.
Sri Narayana Guru had performed the pratishta of the Shivling at Ootuparampu Ardhanareeswari Temple on 28, February 1916 CE (Kollavarsham 1091 Kumbham 15).
Monday is of great importance in the temple. The shrine observes Pradosham on the 12th or the 13th day of a fortnight.
Mahashivratri in Kumbham month is the main festival here. Navratri and Thrikartika are of importance here.
