Arayakkil Veerabhadra Swamy temple is located at Pattena near Nileshwar in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The main deity worshipped in the temple is Veerabhadra Swamy. The main Upa Devata in the temple is Ganapathi.
As per history, the temple belonged to Arayakkil Peringamana Illam. The temple was previously located at Chellakattu (Moolasthanam). Around 400 years ago, the shrine was shifted to the current spot.
The most important festival in the shrine is held on the second Sunday on Vrishchikam month.
The temple was earlier famous for Visha Chikitsa (cure for animal and reptile poison). Those people who were bitten by snake used to sit here for three days for Bhajanam. Those that were bitten by dog used so sit in the temple for Bhajanam for 48 days.
