Ombathungal Sree Mahavishnu temple is located at Mattathur in Thrissur district, Kerala. The main deity worshipped in the temple is Vishnu Bhagavan. The darshanam of Ombathungal Maha Vishnu temple is towards west.
The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Shiva, Bhagavathy, Ganapathy, Subrahmanian and Annapurneshwari.
The main festival in the temple is held on Punartham nakshatra in Meenam month. The day is observed as Prathishta dinam.
As per history, the temple belonged to Ombathu Illangal (nine Brahmin families). Later the temple came under the control of Puliyedathu Nair family.
Currently the temple is managed by a committee formed by villagers.
