Kenampully Shiva Temple – History

Kenampully Shiva Temple is located atop a hill and is around 1 km from Chittoor – Kecherimettil in Palakkad district, Kerala. The main deity worshipped in the temple is Shiva. The darshanam of Kenampully Shiva is towards east.

The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathi and Ayyappa.

The main festival observed in the temple is Shivratri.

As per history, the temple belonged to Samoothiri Kovilakam. Later it came under the control of Kochi king. Ambattu Tharavadu got it from Kochi kings.
