Story - Arjuna And Babruvahana In Mahabharata

Babhruvahana was the son of Arjuna, the third of the Pandava brothers. The story of Arjuna and Babruvahana is mentioned in the Mahabharata. He was born to Chitrangada of Manipura. In due course of time Babhruvahana became the king of Manipura.

Yudhisthira, the eldest of the Pandava brother, decided to conduct Ashwamedha Yajna. As part of the yajna, a horse was released and Arjuna was following it.

When the horse entered Manipura, it was captured by Babhruvahana.

By capturing the horse, Babruvahana did not agree to the dominance of Yudhisthira.

Arjuna then had to challenge Babhruvahana.

Babhruvahana was not aware that Arjuna was his father and he fought the army led by Arjuna which was following the sacrificial horse. During the course of the battle, Babruvahan’s arrow hit Arjun and he fell unconscious.

Uloopi, another wife of Arjuna, who came to know about the incident rushed to the spot and saved the life of Arjuna using the knowledge only available to the Nagas. Uloopi was a naga princess.

Later Uloopi united the father and son.
