Puja for a happy married life is dedicated to Shiva – Parvati. A happy married life is possible only through peace and prosperity both internal and external. The best day to perform the puja for happy married life is Monday. The puja can be performed by the husband and wife together or by wife or husband alone.
The puja should be performed early morning after sunrise or during the pradosh period (1.5 hours before sunset).
The murti (picture, photo or painting) of Shiva and Goddess Parvati should be placed on the northeast corner of the house on a white color cloth.
The puja should be performed facing northeast.
The person performing puja should wear white color clothes.
Take a kalash fill it with water and put some sugar and white chandan in it. Close the kalash with a coconut. Keep this near the picture or sculpture or painting of Goddess Mahagauri.
The lamp should be lit using pure cow ghee mixed with kesar. One wick is preferred.
Dhoop or Agarbatti should be of Mogra.
White color flowers should be offered.
Offer uncooked rice.
Offer white sandalwood paste.
Offer fragrance like ithar or other fragrant waters.
Offer milk and pure honey.
Prepare a white color sweet. It should be later consumed by the couple
The mantra ॐ उमामहेश्वराया नमः should be chanted 108 times. The count can be kept on any mala.
The water and sugar in the kalash should be deposited under a tree.
The mantra should be chanted on all Mondays.
