Nag Devata Mandir At Killar Town In Himachal Pradesh

Located around 155 kms from Chamba town, Nag Devata Mandir at Killar Town in Himachal Pradesh is also known as Detnag or Dehantnag. This temple with a black stone murti is located in the midst of cedar trees.

The Naga murti is said to have come from Lahaul, where it was regular recipient of human sacrifice, until one day a Gaddi named Kittu threw the murti into the Chandrabhaga River. The swift currents carried it to Killar, where a local woman found it drinking milk from her flock of sheep, and took it to its current location where it was enshrined in the small temple.
