Pattambi Nhangattiri Bhagavathy Temple Niramala Festival And Aanayoottu

Nhangattiri Bhagavathy Temple is located at Trittala Village at Njangattiri on Pattambi – Guruvayoor road in Palakkad district, Kerala. The nirmala festival is observed on the Karthika nakshatra day in Meenam month.

The shrine is one among the 108 Durga temples in Kerala.

The murti of Bhagavathy faces west.

The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Subrahmanian and Ayyappan. In the Alathara of the temple, there is the murti of Hanuman.

Muttarukkal is performed on all days of the week throughout the year. Devotees can either bring coconut to perform muttarukkal or can be procured from the temple.

In the Malayalam month of Karkidakam ( mid July to mid August) the temple celebrates aanayoottu or feeding of elephants. On the day, elephants are given delicious and medicated food.

Devotees see the Annayottu to please Ganesha.

The annual Ayilyam nakshatra in Kanni Masam (September - October) is of great importance in the temple.
