Namaste Scientific Reason – Is Science Involved in Namaste

Namaste is the form of greeting in Hindu culture. People greet each other by joining their palms – Namaste, Namaskar or Namaskaram. There is science involved in the form of greeting. The scientific reason of Namaste is associated with Yoga.


In Yoga, joining the two palms is known as Anjali Mudra.

The tips of our fingers are energy points.

When doing Namaste we bring together the tips of our fingers. This results in energy flow from the nerves in the head and the upper part of the body. This makes a person calm and peaceful. Thus, he is able to greet a person with a calm and peaceful mind.
