Akathethara Chathankulangara Temple Facts - Festival

Chathankulangara Temple is located at Akathethara village in Palakkad District in Kerala. The annual festival in the temple is from pooyam nakshatram in Medam month and ends on the Purnima day (Chithirai Pournami).

The temple is famous for a unique sweet offering known as Madura Chatti Puja. This is observed in Makaram month. A sweet is prepared using rice and jaggery in a chatty (clay vessel) during the puja.
