Kartikeya is Deva Senapati or the commander in chief of the
Gods. He is the son of Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The name Kartikeya or Kartik
is more popular in North and Western parts of India. In South India, He is
popular as Murugan. Kartikeya Gayatri mantra is a short mantra with immense
benefit for devotees.
The mantra is chanted on the sixth day after Amavasya or no moon day 108 times. It can also be chanted daily during the regular prayers.

ॐ तत्पुरुषाय विद्महे महा
सैन्या धीमहि तन्नो स्कंदा
प्रचोदयात।
The mantra is chanted to overcome fear. As per Hinduism, a
devotee can only be successful in spiritual world when the devotee overcomes
fear.

defeat enemies and for wish fulfillment.
