Veeralakshmi is a manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi. She is
the Goddess who provides strength to face enemies. There are many texts that
identify Goddess Vaishno Devi with Veera Lakshmi. This form is also counted
among one of the Ashta Lakshmis in some regions.
Veera Lakshmi is associated with valour and she is also the wealth of courage. She along with Vijaya Lakshmi were propitiated by kings and other rulers for victory in battle.
She is also the goddess of power. In some regions, she is also known as Dhairya Lakshmi as she provides the courage to human beings to perform impossible acts.

The murti form of Vira Lakshmi is quite similar to Goddess
Durga. She rides a lion holds various arms like Trishul, sword and mace. In some images she is eight-armed with Trident, Sphere, Conch, Chakra, Bow, Bowl or lotus and Abhaya and Varada hand posture.
The offerings to Goddess Veeralakshmi are pure vegetarian
food items. She is never offered non vegetarian food items.
The most popular story of Goddess Vira Lakshmi has Her
fighting a sorcerer Bhairo, who attempted to molest her. This story
symbolically suggests the need for women to be physically strong and to fight
back when she is attacked.
