Hreem Shreem Jyeshtalakshmi Swamayameva Hreem Jyeshtaye Namah

Today, some people consider Jyeshta Devi to be a goddess of misfortune. But this is not true. She has the capacity to keep out all kinds of negative forces from the lives of her devotees.

When to Perform Jyeshta Devi Puja?

The ideal day to perform the puja:
  • Friday
  • Trayodasi Tithi – the thirteenth day of the waning or waxing phase of moon. Thirteenth day after full moon (purnima) or no moon day (Amavasya) in any month
  • Another option is when there is a tithi with three Nakshatra in a lunar month. This is a very rare occurrence. When a nakshatra ends early in a tithi (like Bharani) and another nakshatra begins and ends on the tithi like (Krittika) and another starts in the same tithi like Rohini.
  • The puja and worship can be performed on Bharani, Krittika, Rohini, Mrigashira (Makayiram), Ardra (Thiruvathira), Punarvasu (Punirtham) and Pushya (Poosam or Pooyam)
  • The puja becomes doubly auspicious when there is a combination of above said nakshatras and Trayodasi Tithi.
