How to do Lakshmi Narayan Puja at Home? – Simple Lakshmi Narayan Puja Vidhi With Mantra

Lakshmi Narayan puja is performed for attaining peace, prosperity and for wish fulfillment. Here is a simple method to perform Lakshmi Narayan puja at home along with mantra. Please note that while doing the puja what is utmost importance is cleanliness and devotion. Lakshmi Narayan Puja vidhi (procedure) and be followed and performed by both men and women.

ॐ श्रीं सत्यलोकपालकाय नमः॥

Which is the ideal day to perform Lakshmi Narayan Puja at Home?

  • Thursday
  • Or when there is Pushya Nakshtra in a Hindu lunar month. Pushya is known as Poosam or Pooyam in regional calendars.
  • It is doubly auspicious to perform the puja when Pushya Nakshatra falls on Thursday – the there is Guru Pushya Yoga.

Murti of Lakshmi Narayan for Pooja

The murti (idol, painting, photo) of Lakshmi Narayan to be used should be of Vishnu sleeping in the Ksheera Sagara (milky ocean) with Goddess Lakshmi sitting near him. Lord Brahma should be sitting on the lotus sprouting from the navel of Vishnu.

Lakshmi Narayan Puja Vidhi

  • The puja should be performed facing north.
  • The clothes used on the day should be of yellow color.
  • Fragrance or dhoop should be of yellow or white flowers.
  • The person performing puja should sit on a seat covered with yellow color cloth.
  • The lamp on the day should be lit using cow ghee mixed with haldi (turmeric powder).
  • Yellow color flowers should be offered like yellow marigold.
  • Yellow seasonal fruits should be offered especially yellow color banana.
  • Kesar should be offered to Bhagavan by applying it as tilak on photo. The person performing puja should also wear the tilak on forehead using kesar.
  • The food (bhog or Prasad) made on the day should be of besan. The color of the food should be yellow.
  • The mantra श्रीं सत्यलोकपालकाय नमः॥ should be chanted 108 times. To count the mantra a Chandan mala should be used.
  • The bhog or Prasad should be shared with maximum number of people.
  • Cows should be fed yellow color banana on the day.
  • Poor children should be offered clothes and food.

Do These Things During Puja

Offer a small amount of honey to Lakshmi Narayan. Take it, spread it on a roti or chapathi, and feed a cow. This will make sure that there will be auspiciousness in your life always.

Role karpur or camphor on a yellow thread and light it before Lakshmi Narayana. This will help in avoiding fights in the family. Karpur can be replaced with ghee.

Offer haldi or turmeric powder to Lakshmi Narayan. Use it to make Shri symbol, on the front door and where you keep your valuables and money. This will help in avoiding financial problems.
