Never Allow Success Go To Your Head

Name, fame and wealth will be squandered when ego is allowed free reign. Many achieve success after hard work and determination but soon it gives rise to self-importance, arrogance and anger. With it starts the downslide. Therefore never allow success go to your head.

Care for living beings, integrity, honesty and empathy should never be lost. They are the pillars on which our success should stand.

When you become harsh, insensitive, and let compliments or praise of your success go to your head; and when your success makes you feel extremely proud; pause and turn around and look back.  This looking back is essential because if you do not look back and change, the slide begins. You will return to the old state.

Observe silence for a few minutes daily. Drop all your thoughts. Surrender your intellect to the almighty. Drop all your success, ego and achievements. What are you now? You are that Supreme Truth. Know that you are just an instrument in the hands of Supreme Truth.

Once we achieve some little success, we have a problem with surrendering, adjustments and failure. We develop many unreal things like false stature, pride, ego etc. No matter how big or small your success is, stay grounded.

We should always be connected to reality. Never compromise on core values just because we have achieved some success. Achieve and maintain success by following Dharma. Whenever pride, ego and anger lifts it head up, put it down by saying that am just an instrument in the hands of Supreme Truth. It is  not me who is doing this but am just executing the will of the Supreme Truth. And know that Supreme Truth only wishes good for all animate and inanimate.

Success also should not give way to overconfidence. Remember we never know what is in store for us the next moment. We can lose all that we have achieved in umpteen ways. Therefore, always have best intentions, avoid all forms of distraction and do not let the mind wander and scatter. Have single-minded devotion and focus.

Stay in the present. Work without fear, hatred and prejudice. Know that you are bound to make mistakes; and when you do own them up and correct them. Never get complacent, always be hungry for more growth. Never stop learning. No matter whatever title others give you like expert, master etc, you should always be aware that there is still lot to learn. Never settle into a comfort zone.
