There is a strong belief among many Hindu communities that worshipping and offering prayers to Goddess Lakshmi on Friday will attract her blessings and wealth. The puja is simple and it does not involve any complicated rituals.
After waking up, one should offer prayers to Lord Ganesha and then to Goddess Lakshmi.
After taking bath, one should wear white color clothes and then pray before the picture of Goddess Lakshmi.
Then a devotee should chant Sri Sooktam Mantra.
Lotus flower should then be offered to the Goddess.
It is believed that performing the above said ritual will attract the blessing of Goddess Lakshmi.
Along with this feeding children with kheer or misri (rock candy) for 21 Fridays is considered highly meritorious.
