How to Chant Gayatri Mantra?

purification of the body by taking bath.

If you are not in a position to take bath then you can wash
your hands and legs with water and use a wet cloth to clean the body.
You should always wear fresh and clean clothes while
chanting the mantra.
The mantra should be chanted while looking at the sun.
You should sit in a comfortable position. Those who are
unable to sit on the ground can sit on a chair etc.
Those sitting on the ground should sit on a blanket, yoga
mat, or bed sheet or a mat made from Durva or Kusha or any other natural
material.
Tulsi mala should be used to count the number of times the
mantra is chanted.
The mantra should be chanted when Sun is present. The ideal
time is morning during sunrise, noon or during sunset.
The number of times to chant the mantra should be decided by
the devotee. 108 times in a day is considered ideal.
If the chanting of the mantra is broken due to an unforeseen
incident; you can start the chanting from the count you stopped.
When to Chant Gayatri Mantra?

during sunset. Best time is to chant by looking at the rising sun.
The mantra should not be chanted at night.
