Bakreswar is located 18 km southwest of Suri in Birbhum
District in Bengal, India. It is one among the 51 Shaktipeetah temples. It is
believed that the part between the eyebrows of Goddess Sati fell here. Mother
goddess is worshipped here as Mahishamardini. Lord Shiva is worshipped as
Bakranath.

properties.
There are a total of eight hot springs here and they are
known as Agni kund, Surya kund, Amrita Kund, Soubhagya Kund, Brahma Kund,
Vairav Kund, Kheer Kund and Jibat Kund.
