Tridev Mandir is located on Sankat Mochan Road near Tulsi Manas Temple in Varanasi. The temple is dedicated to Maa Sati and Khatu Shyam. The Goddess worshipped here is a reincarnation of Uttara of Mahabharata. The temple is associated with deities worshipped in Rajasthan.
Legend has it that Uttara was reborn in a Vaishya family in Rajasthan during Kali Yuga. She avenged the death of her husband and then attained Sati.
The main murtis worshiped in the temple are that of Maa Sati
and Khatu Shyam. Only the head of Khatu Shyam is worshipped in the shrine.
Other murtis worshipped in the temple are that of Ganesh,
Ram, Sita Lakshman, Radha Krishna, Ma Anjani, Bhagavan Balasar, Shiva and
Goddess Parvati.
The temple has three domes with Kalash. The annual pran
prathishta anniversary is held on February 14.
Other important dates in the shrine are last Sunday of
Shravan month, Hanuman Jayanti, Aghan Navami, Bhado Amavas and Annakut.
