Vishnu Prayag is one among the five confluences along the
Alakananda River in Uttarakhand. It is one of Pancha Prayag. At Vishnu Prayag,
Dhauliganga joins the Alakananda River.
Legend has it that Sage Narada performed intense austerities
here to appease Lord Vishnu. Bhagavan Srihari Vishnu appeared before Sage
Narada here. Hence, the name Vishnu Prayag.
Sage Narada was an ardent devotee of and he roamed the three
worlds chanting Narayan... Narayan.
