Swami Dayananda Saraswati, a disciple of Swami Chinmayanada
and founder of Arsha Vidya Gurukulam passed away on September 23, 2015. He was
85. He was an eminent teacher of Vedanta and an erudite scholar in Sanskrit. He
has been teaching Vedanta for nearly five decades and has spoken in many prestigious
universities around the world.
Swami Dayananda Saraswati designed and taught six resident
in-depth Vedanta courses, each spanning 30 to 36 months and three more have
been conducted with his guidance. The graduates from these courses are now
acharyas, teaching around the world.
He set up the Acharya Sabha to take up the challenges
Hinduism faced in India. All India Movement (AIM) for Seva founded by him brings
medical, educational, nutritional and infrastructure assistance to villagers in
the remote areas of India.
The Ashrams founded by Swamiji in India are the Arsha Vidya
Pitham in Rishikesh, the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam at Coimbatore and the Arsha
Vijnana Gurukulam at Nagpur. In the United States the main center is the Arsha
Vidya Gurukulam at Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania.
The best way to understand the Guru is by understanding his
teachings. Here are few of his teachings that the blog had published earlier.
