He was born on 03-09-1855, on the Ashtami day of the Shravan month, which is Gokulashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna. His birth took place during the auspicious Rohini Nakshatra.
It is believed that his ancestors performed penance and received blessings from Lord Dattatreya, and as a result, he was born with divine grace.
His spiritual journey took a unique path. Instead of searching for a guru, he was called and initiated by his spiritual master, Balavadhuta, a realized saint of the Avadhuta tradition. Under his guidance, Pant Maharaj was entrusted with spreading the message of Advaita (non-duality) and spiritual devotion among all sections of society.
Pant Maharaj lived both a spiritual and household life, demonstrating that deep spirituality can coexist with worldly responsibilities. He dedicated his life to guiding people—especially the poor and socially marginalized—toward spiritual awareness, compassion, and devotion.
He attained Mahanirvana in 1905 at the age of 50. His samadhi shrine later developed into the sacred pilgrimage center Shri Kshetra Pant Balekundri.
