It is believed by many scholars that Hercules of Greece was
Krishna or Vishnu. The name Hercules is derived from Hari one of the names of
Vishnu.
Megasthenes has recorded two gods of India – Hercules of the plains and Dionysius of the mountains, the description resembling Krishna and his elder brother Balarama.
The name Hercules is understood to have been derived from the term Har-Kuul-isa (Heri-cul-eesh), meaning “Lord of the lineage of Hari” – according to linguistic interpretation.
