Jainath Temple, popularly known as Lakshmi Narayana Swami
Temple, is located 30 km east of Adilabad in Telangana. The small shrine houses
a six-feet tall murti (idol) of Lord Vishnu in the form of Lakshmi Narayana
Swamy. The murti is carved out of a single black granite stone.
Jainath Temple History – Jainath Temple was constructed by a
Pallava chief. A prakrit stone inscription depicting 20 shlokas mention about the
Pallava chief.
Bhagvan Vishnu is worshipped here as Lakshmi Narayana Swami.
The stone murti has four arms and holds mace, chakra, shankh and lotus.
Lakshmi Narayana Swami Brahmotsavam held from Kartik Shukla
Paksha Ashtami to Kartik Krishna Paksha Ashtami (November) is the most
important festival observed here.
The main shrine is a small one and is located on a platform
which is two feet high.
