Arpokkara Subramanya Swamy Temple is located at Arpokkara
village near Kottayam in Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Lord Subramanya,
who is popularly known as Muruga or Skanda or Kartik. Arpokkara Subramanya Swamy
Temple is around 6 km north of Kottayam town.
The architecture of the shrine is similar to the famous
Kerala style temple architecture.
The shrine is open from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 5:00 PM
to 8:30 PM.
The most important festival observed in the shrine is the
Thaipusam (January – February).
The Shasti Vratam day in each month attracts scores of
devotees to the shrine.
The temple also has peacocks who are considered as the
Vehicle or Vahana of Subramanya.
