Ruby stone puja should be performed on Sunday. Here is a
brief description on how to do puja of ruby birthstone. Please note that
procedure of the Gemstone Ruby Ring is just a guideline and you can be flexible
while performing it.
When to do Ruby Stone Puja?
The puja should be performed on Sunday between 5:00 AM to
6:00 AM or 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. It is performed on Sunday because Ruby is
associated with Surya or Sun God. In Hinduism, Sunday or Ravivar is dedicated
to Surya.
Items needed while doing Ruby Stone Puja
Red cloth preferably silk
Wheat
Dhoop sticks
Lamp with five wicks
Chandan
Kumkum
Yellow flowers
Rava Upma cooked – it is the Prasad
A piece of jaggery
Gemstone Ruby Puja Procedure
After taking bath and purifying oneself offer prayers to
Ganesha. Then offer prayers to Surya.
Spread the cloth before image or murti of Surya and put
wheat on it.
Wash the Ruby stone or ornament having ruby stone.
Apply chandan, kum kum and place it on the red cloth
Light lamp with five wicks and perform puja with dhoop
sticks and offering yellow flowers.
Chant Surya mantra or Gayatri mantra - The mantra should be
chanted 108 times.
Offer the Prasad upma – it can be share later with family
members
Offer jaggery – later share it with family members.
The Surya Mantra to be chanted is
Ashwa Dwajaaya Vidhmahe
Paasha Hasthaaya Dheemahi
Tanno Surya Prachodayath
The red cloth used can be donated. Wheat should be put under soil.
