The procedure of wearing Neelam Birth Stone is known as Neelam
Ratna Dharan Vidhi. It is a simple puja and procedure. How to wear the stone is
explained in simple steps. Neelam should be worn on Saturday. The best time is
between 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM or 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Neelam Ratna Dharan puja can
be performed by person wearing the stone first time and also by those who are
wearing it. Periodical puja helps in improving the power of the stone.
For performing puja you need the following puja items.
Iron or steel thali or plate
Lamp if possible made of steel
Black til or sesame seed
Chandan and kumkum
Blue colored flowers
Black cloth
Cooked rice with til

First take bath and purify oneself
Offer prayers to Ganesha
Light the lamp
Spread the black sesame over the plate.
Wash the neelam ratna and then apply chandan and kumkum and
place it on the plate atop the sesame.
Neelam Ratna Dharan Puja
Do aarti, dhoop and other routine rituals that you do during
Aarti.
Recite the Shani Mantra 108 times and offer the flowers.
Now you can offer the Prasad made using cooked rice and til.
The black can be donated to beggars.
The Prasad can be shared with family members.
The til should be put under a tree.
You can now wear the Neelam Ratna.
