Mahavatar Babaji is a saint who is believed to be living for
centuries in the Himalayas . No one knows the
exact location of Mahavatar Babaji or his age. We get to hear about this
miracle saint from individuals who consider him as their guru. He is called
Mahavatar because he was not born from a womb.
The world came to hear prominently about Mahavatar Babaji
through Paramahansa Yogananda. In his book, Autobiography of a Yogi,
Paramahansa Yogananda talks about the experience people had with him (chapters
33 and 34).
Mahavatar Babaji was the guru of Lahiri Mahasaya; whose
disciple was Sri Yukteswar Giri and Giri was the guru of Paramahansa Yogananda.
As per Yogananda, Mahavatar Babaji lives near Badrinath for
millions of years in the same physical form.
As per the description provided by Paramhansa Yogananda, Mahavatar Babaji appears to
be youth of not more than 24 years.
