Khandoba Yatra at Jejuri Temple in Magh Month – Khandoba Shikar Khati Yatra

Khandoba Shikar Khati Yatra is dedicated to Lord Khandoba and is organized in Magh month. This is one of the important Yatras held to the Jejuri Temple. Khandoba Yatra in Magh Month to Jejuri Temple in 2025 is on February 12.

Lord Shiva is known as Martand or Malhari or Khandoba or Khanderao. It is believed that he took the form of Martand and Malhari to kill demons Mani and Malla.

After defeating the demons, Lord Shiva appeared in the form of a Swayambhu lingam at Khandoba Temple.

The festival in Magh month is held from Magh Shukla Paksha Dwadasi to Purnima. The important date is the Purnima tithi.

Khandoba Shikar Khati Yatra is annually held on Magh Purnima Tithi or the full moon day in Magh month as per traditional Hindu lunar calendar followed in Maharashtra.

It must be noted here that Yatra in Jejuri temple is held annually in Margashirsh, Paush, Magh and Chaitra month.
