A 17th-century murti of Bhagvan Sri Ram was stolen from the Raghunath Temple
on the premises of the Kullu
Palace in Sultanpur in
Himachal Pradesh. This is the murti taken out first during the famous Kullu
Dasara. Nearly 200 deities from the nearby villages arrive during Kullu Dasara
rituals to pay respect to Bhagvan Sri Ram.
The made of ashtadhatu (a combination of eight metals,
including gold and silver) is about three inches long and weighs around 500 gm.
Apart from the murti of Raghunath, murtis of Ganesha,
Hanuman, Narasimha and Saligram Shila were stolen from the temple.
