Karthika Pournami is the full moon day in Karthika month in
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The day is of great significance in all temples
dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu. Karthika Pournami 2025 date is November 5.
Taking holy dip on the day in holy rivers and sacred water bodies are
considered highly meritorious.
Legend has it that Goddess Lakshmi and Chandra, the moon
god, appeared on this day during the Samudra Manthan or Churning of the ocean.
Shiva destroyed the three cities of Asuras (demons) on the
day and therefore the day full moon day is also known as Tripurari Pournami.

devotees on the day.
