form of Mother Goddess. The prayer is chanted during Kali Puja. Kali Gayatri
Mantra is a powerful prayer chanted for good health, wealth, peace and
prosperity. The mantra in Bengali, Hindi and English is given below.
Bengali:
‘ওম মহাকল্যৈ চ বিদ্মহে শ্মশান বাসিন্যৈ চ ধীমহি তন্নো কালী প্রচোদয়াৎ।’
Hindi Transliteration:
“Om Mahākalyai Cha Vidmahe Smashāna Vāsinyai Cha Dhīmahi Tanno Kālī Prachodayāt.”
English Transliteration:
“Om Mahakalyai Cha Vidmahe Smashana Vasinyai Cha Dhimahi Tanno Kali Prachodayat.”
Meaning:
We meditate upon the Great Goddess Kali, the one who dwells in the cremation ground. May that Kali inspire and guide our intellect.
