Abadhak Vrat in Jyeshta Month to Remove Bad Luck

Abadhak Vrat is observed in Jyeshta month (May – June) as per traditional Hindu calendar in North India. Abadhak Vrat 2026 date is June 27. The popular belief is that observing this vrat will help in removing all sort of bad luck. It is also performed for removing foul or bad smell from the body.

Abadhak Vrat is dedicated to Surya, the sun god.

On the morning of the vrat a person takes bath in river, pond or in home. Then prayers are offered to Ganesha and rising sun. The person then offers prayers to Shwet Aak Tree or Rakta Karveer Tree or Nimba Tree.

The fasting is observed on the day from morning or evening till the setting of sun.

It is believed that a person who performs the vrat will have a clean and healthy body and lady luck will smile on him.

The vrat is observed on the Jyeshtha Shukla Paksha Trayodashi or the thirteenth day during the waxing phase of moon.
